Botox

Our team at Centennial Periodontics & Implants wants to provide you with any procedure or treatment you may need when coming to see us. Although it may not be well known, the use of Botox and dermal fillers in dentistry can have a significant positive effect on muscle-generated dental diseases.

Do I need Botox?

There is a possibility that you could be suffering from a muscle-generated dental disease and not know it. In our office, we can treat the following:

Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome: Commonly known as TMJ syndrome is when the movement of your TMJ causes pain. The cause of each patient’s TMJ syndrome can be hard to diagnose due to there being many causes. Some who have TMJ tend to clench and grind their teeth causing dental issues. Botox makes it so that the muscles are unable to engage in the strenuous activities that cause headaches and pains.

Migraines: Botox when inserted, acts as a block in the path that neurotransmitters would send pain signals to the brain.

Tension Headaches: These headaches occur when neck or scalp muscles tense, this happens in response to stress, anxiety, or head injury. The use of Botox reduces muscle constraints, therefore, preventing tension headaches.

If you or someone in your family has either been diagnosed with one of these conditions or you believe you may be suffering from one, you could be a candidate.

We also use Botox to help protect teeth and dental implants after placement.

Types of Botox

In our office, we carry two different types of Botox, one being the original Botox and the other being Xeomin. Each of these can provide help to you in many ways. When acquiring Botox, it is important to meet with Dr. Losin about what you are experiencing. Together you will decide what is best for you.

We also offer a variety of dermal fillers for our patients and the people of Centennial, Colorado.
